WENDY CHEN
As a designer artist, Wendy is noted for her excellence in creating inspired images of floral, landscape and cityscape as well as abstract features to echo the spaces. Born in Mongolia, Wendy majored in design and carried on as the profession for most of her life. Wendy called herself a self-taught artist. Filled with flowing motion and heavy textures, the atmosphere within her paintings is always full of romantic and soft sense. Most of her artworks were related to commissioned projects. Her paintings continue widely to be collected both in North American & China. Wendy now resides in Richmond, BC.
“Painting is a big part of my life. I enjoy painting because I love to create uniquely beautiful things that come from daily life. It is a great joy when a work of art goes directly into a home and then into someone’s daily life from my easel with the scent of oil” Wendy said.
“Art may not be vital to fulfill our basic needs, it does make life joyful. When we look at a painting we have chosen to hang on our living room wall, we feel happy. The sculptures or figurines on the kitchen windows will create a sense of joy. These varieties of art forms that we are surrounded by all come together to create the atmosphere that we want to live in, which is personable to us.”
